SIMPLIFY: Supporting Institutions in Managing Procedures for Lasting ethics and Integrity Frameworks and policy

SIMPLIFY strengthens Research Ethics and Research Integrity across Europe by bringing together existing guidance, training resources and governance structures within a shared and sustainable implementation framework. The project supports research ethics committees, research integrity offices, research performing and research funding organisations, as well as research managers, in embedding ethics and integrity standards coherently, practically and sustainably into their everyday research practices and institutional processes.

SIMPLIFY directly supports the establishment and operationalisation of the coordination structure envisaged under ERA Action 18 “Research Ethics and Integrity” within the ERA Policy Agenda 2025–2027, serving as a key implementation platform for strengthening research ethics and integrity across the European Research Area. Guided by the strategic priorities set by the Member States and the European Commission, SIMPLIFY promotes the structural integration of ethics and integrity frameworks, advances the agreed strategic direction, and enhances operational coherence across the ERA. In doing so, it strengthens policy connectivity, governance effectiveness and the long-term sustainability of ethics and integrity infrastructures.
